On May 23, the Ukrainian Side Event of the largest technology conference in Europe took place, which attracted more than 165,000 visitors, 13,500 startups, and 400 speakers. At Ukrainian Tech Night 2024, representatives of leading technology companies in Ukraine and France, startups, and government bodies met to share experiences and build a platform for mutual growth.
Oleksandr Bornyakov, Deputy Minister for Digital Transformation of Ukraine, and Mr. Pierre Heilbronn, the French President’s special envoy for Ukraine’s relief and reconstruction, opened the event.

The executive director of the IT Ukraine Association, Maria Shevchuk, spoke on the topic “IT Insights from Ukraine 2024” based on the results of the “Digital Tiger: the Power of Ukrainian IT – 2023” research. In particular, the ITU CEO revealed the latest data on the role of Ukraine in the world economy, the geography of Ukrainian exports and statistics on Ukrainian IT companies. Thus, over the past decade, there has been rapid growth in the role of IT in the Ukrainian economy. The share of the export of computer services in the export of services increased by 35.8%, which is 4% of GDP.
During the event, a panel discussion “Turning challenges into advantages: strategies for harnessing the potential in Ukrainian partnerships” was held, moderated by Dominique Piotet (President of La French Tech Kyiv), at which the following spoke:

Despite all the challenges of a full-scale war, today Ukraine does not stop its intensive innovative development.
